About Lori Porter

Lori is a world-wide producer of murals and fine art based in Southern California. Over the past 30 years, Lori has created over 1,000 murals in homes, restaurants, hotels, conference centers, medical facilities, schools, businesses, city centers, and entertainment venues. She has painted murals all throughout California, Washington, Las Vegas, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, and Hawaii, as well as in the Bavarian region of Germany. Her canvas pieces hang in homes throughout the world.

Lori is a self-taught artist whose natural born, God-given talent, has been featured in design magazines and trade publications. With over three decades worth of experience Lori recalls only having lost a bid on about 5 out of 1,000 occasions and she was called back by 2 of those to fix what the initial artist left behind.

Her favorite part of working as a muralist is meeting new people. Her clients become her friends and turn to her to create murals for them year after year. When their child transitions from nursery to big kid room; when a company moves offices; when the hotel gets updated or when a family relocates, Lori is often the first person they call to help turn the new house into a home. Lori understands that a mural isn’t just paint on a wall – it’s happiness envisioned. It’s a conversation starter. It’s a representation of what brings you peace and joy. She can create on the wall or canvas what you envision in your mind and the personal interaction between client and muralist is often a unique experience for an individual not usually involved in the arts.

Lori has an amazing gift for identifying scale, proportion, depth, and distance which make her murals not only gorgeous, but also realistic and highly accurate pieces of art. It takes a special type of artistic eye to create large-scale murals; especially ones that evoke a sense of calm and tranquility, yet Lori achieves this effortlessly. Her natural talent for portraying various forms of light in her art is nothing short of breathtaking. From the sun dancing on the water to lanterns casting off a soft glow, the balance between light and shadows is one her most prized skills.

Weather the project is large or small, for business or home use, Lori will pour her heart and soul into the project and will leave behind a piece of art to be loved, enjoyed, and cherished for generations.

Lori has been married for nearly 40 years and has 3 amazing kids and 5 grandbabies. She lives in Seal Beach, California where she enjoys walking on the pier, jamming on her guitars and ukuleles, and paddle boarding.
